Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates!

Today is a beautiful day where I live. My kids are too old to believe in the Easter bunny, but they won’t give up the candy hunt. So hubby and I got home late last night and hid the candy.

This morning, before the kids got up, our neighbor (3 years old) arrived to see if the Easter bunny had visited us. She was SO excited. Luckily, we had those plastic candy filled eggs in a trail from the front door into the family room so she was able to see that the magic had appeared in our house as well.

She told me they got a new pet. But it doesn’t walk. So I figured she got a stuffed animal. “What’s your new pet?” I asked.

“A fish.”

Okay. That’s a smart mom. She already has 4 kids.

“We can’t hold our pet though.”

No, don’t take it out of the water. Maybe not the best pet, but she didn’t seem to mind.

We gave her one of the candy filled eggs and she discovered a Peep. “What’s this?” she asked.

I thought Peeps were universally known. Guess not. Anyway, as always, it’s children who make a holiday special.

  1. Cute post. I remember in the Patriot Games where Harrison Ford had to ask to have his daughter’s goldfish replaced. Another reason that’s a smart mom!
    LOL.
